Which CAI is the best for the SRT-8 the K&N CAI, the MOPAR CAI, or the DUB-AIR CAI? I have read about all these aplications and they all say they are the best, giving more hp and air intake for the car. What does everybody think?

ask for a reply on three different mfgs. - you'll get (how many potential answers - vvv90?)
I went MOPAR CAI - has a nice big fat Mopar logo on the tube...
as for performence - there is a thread from quite a while ago done by some guys with Limited's and they tried each one and found no difference in performence or additional HP...
It is the best mod you can make for mental HP... :wink1:

Well, that would make the cheapest one best, wouldn't it? Or the best looking one, if you spend more time with the hood up than your foot down...

i went with the mopar. i was thinking about getting the dubair intake but the price point was to much. i am very happy with my mopar cai. do you get more HP probably not. is there better throttle response and much better sound coming from the engine, YES. so its really a preference thing for you. hope that helped a little bit

Having good luck with

The MOPAR CAI.

Throttle response improved 1000% and the growl is great.

If it gives you an extra 5-8 hp that's a bonus.

By themselves

I dont think any of them do much. With a catback system, MPG should go up (That's my next install when it arrives)

I know Wykoff sells it and no you won't need it if you SC your car......SC takes up just about as much room as the Mopar CAI

BTW: You also won't need your warranty if you SC.....just some food for thought

I don't really think you should have any issues with it at all....you're not blowing the intake at all......and forchristsakes it does say MOPAR on it!!! If anything you're just allowing slightly better airflow to the intake manifold.

chasb,
Installed the Mopar CAI on the MSRT8 yesterday. Looks great! With the hood up and the drivers door open I could hear something like air being sucked in but have to tell you that with the hood closed I realy didn't notice much in the way of a growl.

BTW I have Zoomers so that may be the reason too. But Iove the look and getting rid of that big black box under ther hood!

I am still running through my stock exhaust (waiting for magnaflow system to ship)

I have to believe that you'll hear some of that growl even with the windows closed and the A/C on. )f course, I edont know what the zoomers sound like, so they may be drowning it out?

chasb,
I'm sure you're right on about the "sound" as I have heard/read about many others that say the same thing.

The Zoomers are a real agressive sounding system and must be the reason. Look forward to hearing your report after you get the Magaflow system installed.

qzking, using your right foot, when the road is clear for a couple hundred yards ahead of you, you abruptly mash the long slender pedal *to the floor* and hold for the count of 3.

Then you'll hear the growl chas mentioned.

(Sorry, couldn't resist.) :)

Thanks Meister! I've never tried that! (LOL!)

PS: Should I close the drivers side door when I try this?
