like the topic says..

just bought one (wish i bought the HEMI  ) and im going to buy a set of 22's.. but heard horror stories that the base model (190hp) couldn't pull the extra weight of the rims/tires added on? Is this true? Will I lose a tremendous amount of power? So, if any 300 "base" model owner's out there with 22's on, can you please shed some light on this topic?
Thanks Janett..

You may want to try e-mailing this guy...

and see what he thought of the daily power on hand...might give an idea of the baseline before you add wheel weight.
thanks for the info.. i dropped him a email.. anyone else?

Something you may want to define is how heavy the new setup will be and compare it to the stock weights. Granted there will be some loss due to the rotational mass (explained elsewhere in here), but you may not be as bad off as you think if you get a package that is not ungodly heavy.
thanks again for the info

300CWannaB,

Hello, My name is Brian Carotenuto, and I like yourself am the owner of a base 300 sedan. I am awaiting delivery on my vehicle, it should be here within the next week or so. I don't plan on upgrading my stock wheels with anything else, but you may want to ask your dealer's service personnel about what the car in the base format can accept. Just be careful that you don't affect the ride or handling of the car too much. Does your 300 have the Electronic Stability Program package? That is the only option that I had included with my order. I hope I can be of some assistance to you when I know more information from my dealer regarding different things. (Given the fact that we both have the same model) One thing that I did hear about the base model is to change the oil as it says in the book. Do not go over the time limit or problems may result. This tip was given to me by my dealer when I asked about any concerns or complaints about the car in general.

Sincerely yours,

Brian T. Carotenuto

i am an owner of a 300 base model. i have close to 5000 miles on it. at first the lack of power was noticeable for me because i was coming from a toyota sequoia which had a nice V8 in it. after getting use to the new car i didnt miss the hp as much as i thought i might. i will get me a C at some point just cant afford it now. i am a full time student. i am running 20" wheels on it i dont think i would go with 22" wheels for the fact the suspension is not as good on the base as the C. also there is no ABS unless you paid extra for it, that could be a problem with wheels that big. hope this helps ya out. enjoy the ride!!!! i know i sure as hell enjoy mine. :)
thanks.. i feel you on the power.. i have a 04 surburban z71, and it pulls really harder than this base model 300  .. like you, i will upgrade to a "C" later.. lol..
btw, isn't the suspension the same as the "C"? i was told that @ the dealership... hum.. anyways.. freak it, im going to buy a set of 22's, and i will weigh them out as well. stock 17's vs 22's
what are nice rims to buy for a 300 anyways? I've read the top sticky about 22's, and couldn't find out what i was looking for?.. Do you guys/gals think the rims on the West Coast Customs chop top 300 looks good?
