Does anyone have any hints on how they wired their backup cameras?

I'm installing one soon, and was looking for clues as to how others routed the cable from the rear of the car all the way up to the radio.

Any info/suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Since everything that was needed in my car was on the driver's
side, my cables are run down the side. So my sub volume knob,
amp bypass switch, and RCA cables are all run down the drivers
side.

Any more details? Where did you run the cables? How did you hide them? How was it snaked to the head unit?

Much appreciated,

Cables can be run along the passenger side of the car and if you lift up the carpet you can see how much space there is in there in and around the factory harness/ power cable (which i found odd that it is actually welding cable being used).

Gotcha - so I can just snake it along the existing power cables. Ah, I actually hadn't thought of that right away - the battery cables have to run from the trunk to the engine bay already - makes lots of sense.

Thanks for knocking my brain in to gear. That's exactly what I needed!

Cheers,

Just zip tie them in place and you will be fine. You would only need to find a grommit and then drill through it to route you wire from the camera in.

The camera I bought includes two rubber grommets to do just such a thing.

Geeze - I hope I like the camera. Maybe I should fire it up before I mount it...
