Hello from SE Indiana!

I am looking to purchase a replacement set of tires for my 2011 300c with the 20" wheel package.

I am NOT looking for anything super cheap or ridiculously expensive. I have just about settled on some Pirelli Scorpion Verde all-season (*Indiana weather sucks!)tires.

They are in the size - 255/45R-20. They will fit my rims as far as width goes and are fairly easy on my wallet at +/-$130.00 ea.

My question(s) are this:

  • Does anyone have experience with these tires?
  • The tires are listed as: SUV/CROSSOVER. Is this a reason to NOT buy them?
  • Does anyone have negative experience with the website - SimpleTire.com?
I guess that is all for now. Please respond as soon as possible as I can almost see the air in my right rear tire as she sets.

Thanks,

Tom

I can't comment on the Pirellis but I do have experience of fitting a set of Falken ZE950 all seasons to my 2013 AWD to face the NY/Connecticut winter weather (Link) while I was over your side of the atlantic a couple of years ago. Mine were 19's as they were on the AWD but were a dramatic improvement on the Hankooks they replaced

I have Pirelli P Zero A/S-Plus on my 300C with 18” wheels. Very nice tire...great traction even in wet conditions. About on par with the Conti I used to have in older car. Probably not really comparable to what you are looking at. Look at speed ratings...SUV/truck tires may not work for our 300s.
Lots of tire discussions on here for 20” wheels; not as much for the 18” or 19”. Do a search.

I would not buy crossover suv type tires of any brand for the car. I bought my 300S with Firestone Destination 2 on it. They are SUV tires and don't meet my expectations. Rough, noisy, and less than great handling. The General G-MAX AS-05 might be a good tire to review. B F Goodrich G-Force Comp-2 A/A might be better for the snow aspect. Check out the reviews on tirerack.com.
