23inch rims?

well I see that a ton of people have 22's on their cars.
this seems to be the most popular on 300's.
24's are slick but alot of people seem to be having problems with the way they ride.

anyone put 23's on a 300 yet (on this forum) ?

I'm going to pickup my 300c (cool vanilla) hopefully this weekend.
ordering some TIS style 03's for it.
not sure on the tire size yet, but I figured I could fit a little more tread on the tires than 24's and the ride should be better, plus there's not alot of people that have 23's...

here's a pic of the wheels, this is of a 20inch wheel though...

I haven't seen 23"s on a C yet. I think it would be pretty cool. I do like those wheels too. Good luck and post pix once you do it.

There is one guy that said he had 23 1/2's on his 300, He has a custom paint job with cherry red. I dont know if he ever posted here but he use to post over at *******.

I have those TIS 03's in 22's....love em......but, I dont think TIS makes 23" rims.....only 20's, 22's, 24's, 26's and 30's..........

Here are all the wheel sizes directly from the TIS website...I cut and pasted them directly......sorry no 23's for the TIS 03's...I dunno though...they could have since updated and added a 23" size, but more importantly, did TIS make one in a 23 with our bolt pattern and backspacing??????

23'' are very rare, therefore I think finding tires is going to also a little hard and more expencive. I think 24z and 23z will be in the same price rance if not more expencive for the 23z. I might me compleately wrong :). Just tought a shared.

I will just go with 24z if a was you. I mean why not?

Omi300 is correct. It's easier to find tires for even number 20, 22, 24, ect. If you end up catching a flat most tire shops won't have it in stock. I've had friends come from out of town that this happened to that has 23's. And even if the have to order them 23's are harder to locate and therefore higher.

yes you are both correct. i had an 01 eclipse v6 a few years back sitting on 19's..it was a pain in the a$$ to find a replacement on-hand. i had to order tires everytime i blew one..no one carried them in stock, never again:yuck: .

pic of my eclipse..

Thanks guys for confirming my statement, I was not a 100% sure but, I knew they were a lot harder to get. I know nobody wants to be with out a car, or at least with a spare tire 3-5 days to get a tire replaced. In the other hand 22" and 24" are so common right now you will find them in almost every single shop in town....well at least here in Florida.

23's are not that much higher than 22's there just is no selection . 285 35 is the smallest tire the make and it will not work to well ....when i got my 22's it was like 300 bucks diff in 23's...24's whoa....big diff...now it will be hard to find 23" tires cause it not a big demand for them...so no one will stock them...

oh and the guy who claims he has 23 1/2 .....there is no such thing....every wheel made the face measures more than what it is....they measure wheel size by where the bead sets... my wheels measure 23 1/2 too on the face.. i still have 22 in wheel..lol

The tire that might work is continental's 315/25 23, but you will have to work with the fenders and get agressive offsets to push out the wheel a bit. This tire is just as tall as the 255/30 24, just wider.

been away from the computer for a few days...

money is not an issue here.
and 24's seem to risky, I just something that no one has

here's the tire sizes that are available:
285/35
285/40
295/30
305/40
305/25
315/35

the rim is 25x10 and the tires sizes confuse me like crazy, i can't do all that ratio stuff.

what tire would work without having to modify anything?

thanks!

The 295/35 23 is nearly perfect, but it is still too wide. Like I said before, you will have to do modifications if you want to pull it off. The demand is just not there for 23" on these cars. Like all the rest of the posters said, any odd size is more expensive and harder to come by. Seems as if it's easier to manufacture even sizes.

i'll just order an extra tire or 2, off superbuytires.com you can get tires/wheels 24/7 that alot of companies don't carry!

so if i put the 295/35 on there will i still have to put a wheel spacer on?
i've heard of people putting 24x10 wheels on and not having to mod anything.

You also need to check that the offset is right or they will stick out and rub, and look funny, or be in to much and still rub and look funny. From 23" to 24" is not that much of a difference at all. 24" are risky? what about 23"? If safe is what you want 20" and 22" is the best option. If you want that WOW factor and stand out 24". You will have more options and a better chance of a better fit.

What ever you do I WANT TO SEE PICTURE...lol...I am sure I will LIKE IT.:arms:

hmmmmm
maybe i should just get 24's then! (tis style 03's still)

ok...
if I get 24's which tires will set the best on the car?...
275/25
285/35
285/40
295/30
295/35
305/35
315/35
315/30
325/45

I've heard the 275/25's the way to go, but would it be possible to not have to modify anything and go with a bigger sidewall than the 25?

#21 ·
You can go with the Toyo 24"s but you have to cut the hell out of the upper control arm bolt.....im running 275/25/24s but it all depends on your roads cuz ur right theres about an inch of rubber

why do you have to cut the bolt?
would it hit on the tire if you hit a big enough bump?
how's the ride?

thanks man

You can go with 30 on the side wall...There is a few guys running those here in the forum that will give you a little bit more of comfort.

I will check on the right size and post it here for you and maybe a picture.

i hate to trim something though!
don't want to void any warranty!
Is just bolt...just on the front end and all you have to do is grind it about 1/4 of a inch just to be safe. A lot of people do it even with 22z. The bolt stiks out from the nut just make them even that will be it. I do not think this will void any kind of waranty, but you can ask before doing so.
