Got a flat today at 3700 miles. Original Continental tires. Wood screw with a 1/4" head. The TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System?) notified me of the problem.
I changed to the donut. This thing looks like sh*t. I loaded the tire in the trunk (what a stupid design. Where am I supposed to put the luggage when I get a flat?) and drove the 120 miles home in driving rain. Luckily everybody else were going 50 due to the weather.
Does the fact that I have TPMS create a problem? Can I have my local tire guy just plug and fill the tire?
If he has to remove the tire from the rim, is there anything he should know beforehand?
I just want this to be as effortless as "in the old days" when a flat meant nothing.
