I joined to troubleshoot my OEM HID headlights. It's a fully loaded (and I mean fully) 2015 300C platinum phantom black. Really really slick car. It has 85000 miles (i go everywhere). Anyhow, I decided to check the fuses even though the dealer said that I may need to replace two parts; one costing around $600.00 and the other costing around $1600.00. Low and behold both HID headlamp fuses were blown with same terminal burned on each fuse. I replaced the fuses, all good so far (it's only been 15 minutes). Anyhow, I'm posting this information just in case someone else has the same issue.

I had the same problem with my passenger side HID on my 2017 3000c. I replaced both Drivers and Passenger Headlights and still no Passenger Light. Flipped them around and still no Passenger Light. Took it to the Dealer who felt it was the Headlight assembly, they let me purchase it online for $750 + $50 shipping. They installed it and still no Passenger Light. They felt the new assembly was faulty and ordered a new one, still no Passenger Light. Finally Chrysler had them install another Headlamp assembly with a wiring-Headlamp Jumper (68540265AA) instruction sheet K6856108 and YEA!! I have 2 Headlights again. I don't think there ever was any problem with the Headlight Assembly, it was this Headlamp Jumper that solved the problem.

I have been looking for the fuses for my HID lights and I dont have any. I have a 2014 300S full loaded with factory HIDs. I also have a passenger side light that does not work. I have switched with known good lights and still nothing. The dealership wants to replace the whole assembly however the DRLs are functioning which tells me I possibly have a ballast issue. I have checked the fuse box and I dont see anything for headlights or HID lights. I only see headlamp washer. Any advice or pictures for the location of that fuse in your fuse box?

Does anyone have a copy of this "instruction sheet K6856108?" I googled it, and only thing that came up was this thread.

I just want to see where they splice it in in the cct, and why. Why didn't they do that in the first place????

Details are vague, but it may not even affect my older (2006) car, but it would be nice to know.

As I have said before, headlights that are THAT complicated and that expensive, to me, are just ridiculous. They are just headlights for Gods sake.

If anyone has it and could attach, that would be Great............

Thanks mate;

No, that is the directive that tells you there is a problem /details /parts etc. I found that.

In that it then says - "REPAIR PROCEDURE: 1. Use the I-Sheet (K6856108) supplied with the kit, for instructions to install the jumper harness provided in the wiring kit. "

That "i Sheet" then tells you what/where/how it is connected/what they actually DO. So what I am after is "i sheet K6856108" so I can see what it is they do/replace/where and check it on the orig cct.

Now, if I was writing that tech bulletin/aquaint/directive, I would either have the i sheet text in the bulletin, (so just one document to do the whole thing) or as an attachment; that is, NOT write a bulletin that says "You need to do THIS, can't do it without THIS............. but you have to go and find that...........because we didn't want to make it easy" ....................................

But maybe that's just me.............................

Thanks.

Yeah I had an intermittent issue with my headlights. One would just randomly go out. I would smack the fuse box and it would come back on. I knew there was an issue. I tried diagnosing the issue but my car had the wrong fn fuse box cover. Im thinking it was off a charger or other car all together. Anyhow I FINALLY figured out which fuses were for the headlights and yep, they were burnt and loose. Pushed them down, lights came on. Got some new ones. I check them each oil change. No issues yet.
