Multiple error codes have often been the result of a chaffed harness in the OM642 engine, but can't comment on the FIAT CRD. Another possible cause is low battery volts. Are your battery and alternator OK?

I had similliar codes thrown with my 2nd gen 300. I did pretty much the same things you are doing. Any chance that an abs speed sensor fault code was listed? That was what my problem. I couldn't belive the wipers initiated because of a failed speed sensor. But.....

Has been snowing and raining here since I last used the car and suddenly I have issues

I had a similar problem with the instrument panel/wipers and interior lights, several years ago after hitting flood water at high speed on the motorway. I discovered splash marks on the Front Control Module (FCM) and the problems vanished after the car was left to dry out for a few days.

I don't know if the FIAT engine has a similarly located FCM which could be liable to water ingress - maybe through connectors, but this module does control a lot of functions.
