When you go to your jobber give him the paint code on the door jamb AND your VIN. he'll match it from that. I believe that PXR-AXR are the codes for black

 

The local stealer, I mean dealer, left me with the impression that both the PXR and AXR paint codes are the same.

 

They very well could be. At least for the same color. Paint manufacturers will sometimes change the formula during a model year production run. So 2 cars made during same year/same color actually have 2 different paint signature. Only way to tell is by VIN number on which one was used. Go to a jobber( auto paint supplier and he can check . Unless you are blending (touching up small area on a specific part). I don't know if you'll see a difference due to shadowing and light reflection on the spoiler. But a jobber can tell you which code you have. There also is a QXR code in that color line.

Does anybody happen to know the difference between AXR and PXR paint codes?

My 300 Limited's door jamb says PXR, but I was looking at a Mopar rear spoiler that comes painted in AXR.

It is one in the same, AXR is the paint code for Brillant Black Crystal and PXR is the sales code for Brillant Black Crystal.

 

Technically, the codes are the exact same color. The difference?

AXR = CHRYSLER Brilliant Black Pearl

PXR = DODGE Brilliant Black Pearl
