I have this exact same issue and and actually just got back from the dealership. They said that it is the steering shaft and also the boot that is on it is damaged.

Part Numbers they listed for the steering shaft are #4649123AF, and boot #51702663AB, but that is for a SRT , so it may be different part numbers for your car.

Hope this helps

Sounds like you blew the seal on the power steering pump. I did that this last winter when a snow drift blew up my car's ass and lodged me in place. I was turning the wheel all sorts of directions with the engine revved up and tires spinning on the ice. I got out but at the expense of my p/s pump. It started out as being only when I turned the wheel all the way but progressively got worse to being whenever I turned the wheel. Dealer replaced it under warranty. Good luck.

Dream warrior i noticed on your stats it says that your lowered too? i have the sportlines on my 300 and ever since i put them on like you said when your "turning from a stand-still park i hear a "pop" sound from left to right and vice versa, it's not super loud but still noticeable...i've lived with it for more than a year now but never tried to figure out what was wrong..any similarity??
