Struggling with Uconnect Phone Pairing

Bought the new Sprint A900 Bluetooth Phone today and went through the steps of deleting my old phone and adding the new. Uconnect tells me the pairing was successful and the phone indicates that it is in fact paired yet when attempting to call out using the Uconnect, it tells me the phone is not available. Suggestions please!!!

Make sure Uconnect is the primary bluetooth profile on the phone, my Rzr had a
headset as the primary and Uconnect didn't like it until I deleted that profile.

I tried repeatedly to pair my motorola 710 to no avail. I v=called the 1800# in the manual re: U Connet and... Voila, correctly paired. I know, I know, real men NEVER read the directions (they also might never connect!)

This might be useless but try pulling the battery in your phone and then plug it back in. This should reboot the phone. Try going through the process again, first deleting the Uconnect profile and then reestablishing it again.

If this doesn't work theres always the 800#!! Good luck!

what is the 800 number for uconnect? I finally have it paired and sporadically can make the call then get a voice prompt telling be there was a communication error after it rings 2 or three times. I have also heard it say there is no cellular service available.

Wow, I hope its just a fluky phone or something I really want that phone :(

Keep us posted, as that looks to be the best BT Spring phone out now :/

Sorry to dissappoint you but I just spoke with level 2 tech support at Samsung and they informed me that the profiles built into their bluetooth phones for Sprint will not work with our Uconnect systems. This phone had my Uconnect doing things that had me believe the system was fried. Once I disconnected the phone from the system, all was back to normal. The tech told me that all Samsung Phones used on the Sprint Network will have the same issuesbut occasionally one might squeak through with fewer problems. Guess we just have to wait for either Motorola, LG etc to offer a similar phone for Sprint. I don't like my LG PM-325 but really don't have much of a choice at this point and the Treo is not an option for me due to its size. Good Luck

Crap, This is the only Sprint BlueTooth phone that has even intrested me in upgrading to a new phone from my 8100 Sanyo :(

The 940 is a brick but has a better camera but looks like poo....

Humm I wonder if we kidnap the lead programer and make him write a better profile, would that REALLY be a crime ? :D

The A900 is incompatible with uconnect. I bought an A900 specifically to work with my car, but at best I can get 10 seconds of connectivity before the phone has to be reset. Often the uconnect system won't detect the phone at all. All of the new sprint samsung phones use the same basic software, so it's unlikely you will have better luck with any of their other models.

I've had no trouble with other carriers/phones on uconnect, and Sprint's lack of support has made me decide it's time to jump ship and find a new carrier.

zj1, thanks for additional information regarding A900 UConnect compatibility problems; Like others, you just want the "thang to work" other wise great phone; will check into mfg. software upgrades before returning this phone.

I posted this in another thread, but if anyone is wondering if Cingular and T-Mobile blackberries will work, you are in luck. I have tried 5 different models and all work flawlessly.

For whatever it's worth I have a problem with my U-Conn., took it to the service dept. and was told there is a software problem and they will have a update or a fix in a week or two. The phone works but sometimes disconnects.
