2017 Chrysler 300c Uconnect major problem

I just bought this car a month ago! It is gorgeous, loaded and fun to drive, however, when the radio malfunctions, it's just another ole boring car.
The Uconnect system will start bouncing from one radio preset to another, it will randomly save a radio station to a preset, if I go to the media screen, it will repeatedly change from repeat to random(or whatever that selection is), among countless other issues. I just wish I could attach a video of this system going haywire, it would be so much easier to understand. It is such a shame for such a beautiful car to have this huge of a problem.
If anyone has a suggestion, a fix or a solution, please let me know. I will be forever grateful!

I’m having similar issues. Except my infotainment system freezes and the backup camera doesn’t come on in Reverse anymore (just started a few hours ago). I only have 21,000 miles on this car!!! I would love a number or email for someone that can help.

My 2017 300s I bought late last year has no remote Unconnect capabilities and GPS thinks I'm 450 miles N of my location and has no idea what direction I'm driving. The SOS call out button doesn't work either. The cellular signal strength indicator for the unit its self shows no signal.
I bought from Illinois but the local dealerships in Tulsa say the unit has to replaced but it's not covered at 33K miles and want $1,200 plus labor to replace it.

I've reset it and driven in circles in a parking lot and was going to have the dealer update it but they said it would not fix the issues and they wouldn't spend the $140 on the update.

The remote Uconnect and the SOS system only work with a paid subscription. You should be able to use the "Assist" button to connect to them to activate your account. It's a separate subscription from the Sirius music account. But in my opinion it's not worth it. It takes several minutes to just unlock the car - IF it works at all, maybe 3 out of 10 tries in my experience.

2017 Chrysler 300 Platinum, similar radio problems since I bought the car new and it is no longer under warranty. Dealer has worked on it multiple times, including replacing the radio, dumping all firmware and software, and reloading it all. Previously under warranty and now out of pocket. I got tired of taking the care in for this problem so I just accept it but when I put it in for other service I get them to check. This time they updated the software again (cost me $100 +) but it did not help. Probably 1 out of 5 times I start the car the screen freezes for about 10 minutes. Accordingly I have no control over any of the apps on the screen. Sometimes it freezes as a black screen, other times it freezes as the home screen and sometimes, if I back the car up shortly after starting it, it freezes on the back up screen so I am driving forward with a picture of where I had been backing for about 10 minutes. It eventually reboots, sometimes a few times in a row, and then works for the rest of the trip. The other feature that has never worked is my SXM Favorites lists. It will work once after I switch to SXM and then it freezes and has the same list showing until I restart the car. My wife owns a 2019 Jeep with the same system and it works fine. I own a 2015 Ram 2500 with a similar system and it works fine.

Sorry you are having these issues. Since they started before the warranty ended and you continue to bring it back for the same reason, Chrysler should cover it. You should elevate this issue. The only “fix” is a new radio.

I am having my the same issue with my 2018, 300, it wasn’t this bad until around 2-3 weeks ago when I installed the latest update for the unconnect system.
It’s impossible to use the system, the touch screen goes haywire, whether it’s on then radio or CarPlay
I wish I could post a video.
But here is a YouTube link of it.

Please advise.

I am having same issue with 2017 300. I purchased the car 2 yrs ago and this past year the radio randomly will not turn up or down or off at times. the air will not work, button will not turn off . the backup camera stays on even though its in drive. it has 23000 miles on it. it is not under warranty any longer due to its a 2017 . i have not taken to a dealer for the issue yet. but i have noticed in the right corner what looks to be a bubble that will not go away. After looking into this issue , it seems to be very common for 2017 chrysler , jeeps and chargers.

I am having major issues with my Uconnect system that is causing driving hazards. The Uconnect screen will freeze randomly causing me to lose my backup camera and signal the parking sensors into slamming on my brakes for me when no one is even around the vehicle. I constantly lose connectivity for both Bluetooth and Carplay. At times I have no choice but to use GPS on my cellphone while driving. The sound will not work, can’t change stations, or move between apps on the screen. AC controls become inoperable due to not being able to change screens. I reboot the Uconnect but it lasts for a short period of time before it goes haywire again. I have checked on the Uconnect site for updates, but it states there isn't any. This is almost on a daily basis now with a car that has less than 10,000 miles on it.

I have an extended warranty on my 2018 300. My dealer is awesome to work with and replaced the radio after the dreaded bubble started to do all those funky things. They told me that a Ram owner had the same thing happened to him. His uconnect started turning on the seat heaters on 90 degree days and started calling 911 and even called his ex wife! I did hear about a class action suit against FCA(Stellantis). If you have this problem and are out of warranty, dealers will want to charge you over $1500. to replace the radio. If you check YouTube, there are fixes that you can do for next to nothing if your handy with the tools.

This is good to hear. These radio screens are going to be a problem for some time. The screens just get bigger and bigger. when exposed to extreme heat and extreme cold this type of delamination is almost inevitable. I defiantly recommend the warranty on any vehicle today. With all the technology that is in every car today you really must go with the Maximum Care Warranty or its equivalent in the warranty that covers whatever brand you are driving. Happy and Safe driving:):)

I'm reading the screens themselves can be bought independently and installed by someone with a minimal to moderate tool selection and a bit of motivation....

By the way, I did purchase the Mopar MaxCare 8/60 zero deductible plan AND the Mopar MVP plan, also with zero deductible. I have complete confidence in 300 but I'm up in age and not in the best health. I want my heirs to make the best decisions for themselves and for my possessions.

I love my 2017, 300c, no engine issues drive very smooth. My issue is uconnect, it goes haywire, when using boothtooth it calls multiple numbers back to back, the heat turns on then the ac seats turn on the defrost want stay on it jumps from one to the other, the radio jumps from one station to other. The uconnected goes crazy! Chrysler told me 1200.00 to fix, still paying my note can't afford at the time. Can't even drive my beautiful car while raining. This should be a covered issues with chrysler

Hey Kevin smith,

Thank you for bringing your Uconnect concerns forward. We understand that a repair of this caliber can have impacts beyond just the financial element. There is a process known as Goodwill that can be applied for through a certified dealership in order to meet your financial needs. Though not a guarantee of coverage at this time, this Goodwill process will put you in the best position to have your concerns addressed outside of your warranty. If you would like assistance navigating this matter, we ask that you please send our team a private message and we will meet you there to assist you further.

I hope they cover it for you, Kevin. Why are so many others given a flat NO from dealers when they have the same issues. There should be a standard set by Stellantis in dealing with this issue as it effects so many Chrysler, Dodge, Ram and Jeep owners over numerous year models. While this causes severe inconvenience, it could also be said that this also constitutes a safety issue. Someone needs to stand behind their products!
