Hi All,

I have been getting good troubleshooting tips from this website, and today decided to post my issue.
I have tried to figure out the issue with my a/c compressor not engaging and unfortunately the most common tip to diagnose the issue is not working for me, which is the compressor relay/fuse check.
My car is 300 touring 2005, and all of a sudden my a/c compressor stopped working.
Tried to locate the compressor relay but all I can find is the fan relay and nothing says A/C or compressor !!
Code im getting from engine light on is P0645 PCM, looked into detailed troubleshooting steps but I need to know if there is a relay in my fuse box ?
My mechanic tested power to the compressor and it doesn't seem to have power getting to it.

Any help is appreciated.

it seems empty actually, but how it will take the Freon if its not running, we tried and didn't work ?
Suggested ways ?

However, keep Im mind that we checked the power and its not getting to the compressor, according to some other suggestions I probably need to check the PCM connectors ?
Unless someone can exactly tell me which relay or fuse is for my A/C compressor, which I cant seem to figure out.

Thanks

The A/C clutch relay is located in the IPM, aka the front power distribution center, under the hood, left/front of the engine compartment.

After opening/removing the lid, and while standing in front of the car facing the rear, the A/C compressor clutch relay will be seen at the left rear corner of the IPM, second relay to the right from the corner.

I think you will find that once the leak is fixed and you start to add the R134 refrigerant, the pressure of the new R134 will close the low pressure switch and the compressor will kick in to take in the additional R134 for the system to run normal.

If your AC works one day then not the next, there's a good bet that you caught a rock in the condenser. Check for fresh oil stains looking into the condenser through the grille and lower air dam areas. Additionally, check all the hoses, fittings and pipes for signs of leaks. Oil will be present at a leak.

I'm not sure if the 05 has a 2 wire low pressure switch, or a 3 wire pressure transducer, but if it's the 2 wire type, you can unplug it, and jumper the connection with the AC tuned on and blower fan on any speed. On my 08, the low pressure switch is in a line near the service fittings, by the master cylinder. If the circuit is okay, the clutch should engage. If you locate the relay, you can jumper 30 and 87 to bypass the control side and check the clutch coil circuitry independently.
Happy troubleshooting and
Good luck!
