I have a 2008 300C and I am working on my left rear door it is missing the Plastic clip that secures the end of the exterior door handle latch release link (4) to the latch .
I wonder if anyone can give me the exact Chrysler part numbers and / or an aftermarket set of the plastic retaining clips that secure the end of the exterior door handle latch release link to the latch.
I have contacted my local Dodge-Chrysler dealer and they can't give me a valid part # or an image to look at and haven't been much help as they gave me a part # that doesn't match to anything inside the door!!.
I have been researching all over the internet and I have see all different kinds of them but I don't have an image or part # that matches up.
Also I am not able to remove the right rear door panel at this time.

On the other car, over the 11 years I had it, both front door handles broke at the front pivot, and that was just from constant use, because the rears on my car only ever get opened to put a jacket on the back seat/no one sits in the back.

Wheras on the car I just bought, both rears were broken, again at the front pivot. That "hook" of plastic is the weak point and it snaps there.

The handles are designed (badly  ) to be pulled from the rear, not from the front, as the rear moves more/releases the door. Ancient fossils like me don't pull it anyway, door handles I grew up with had a button so you grabbed the handle, then pushed button in with your thumb = door opened. So I instinctively grab handle, push area where the button "used to be" and that levers the door open, so only ever pressure at the rear. So, if you open them like that, they last longer.

Of course, old car door handles were so strong, well, I have seen people tie things on their roof with them - those days are gone!!! But that front pivot is too flimsy and they just break, either after extended use; but also if someone pulls them too closely to the front, as that pivot just can't handle the "pull" before the door is unlatched.

With the recent one, I had both rears broken/wanted to do it quickly, so I ordered new ones, and they are cheap = fitted them. But I have the old ones, and apart from the broken hook are like new, so when I had time, I injected some epoxy (JB Weld type) into the broken "hook" (they are hollow) and put a small steel stud across the break inside.

Most couldn't be bothered, but as that is the weak point, epoxy strengthened ones are actually stronger than new (hollow ones) - maybe I should have injected some into the new ones, but was in a hurry.

Like I said, most can't be bothered....... but just a thought.
I really appreciate all of the advice and as I am also old enough to remember growing up with the old push-button doors on vehicles myself I will start doing that as well as it sounds like it will be less stressful way of using the door handles and could help them last longer!!.
I only use the rear doors to go grocery shopping and such and it is easier than using the trunk for me anyway!!

I will note your epoxy fix and other advice in case I ever need to replace the entire exterior handle as it sounds like a good idea to reinforce it ahead of time but as of this time they all work fine.
I used to work on cars for a living for a lot of years but I quit doing that many years ago and I am a little out of touch with things regarding vehicles these days.
I am also somewhat new to the 300's / Chargers as I have been an owner for only 5 years now and haven't needed to do much repairwork as of yet.

Well after exhausting searches throughout the vast expanes of galactic space and time I have finally resolved the exterior door handle issues and all exterior door handles open the doors just fine now.:)

I finally found a way to find out which ones are the proper exterior daor latch clips that go to our 300's.
After contacting MANY different Chrysler dealerships I finally found one that knew actually knew which clips went to what places in the doors.

The right side clips for the exterior door handles according to Chrysler are >> 2001-2024 Mopar Latch Link Clip part # 4658676 and it is the Yellow clip.

The left clips for the exterior door handles according to Chrysler are Mopar Latch Link Clip Part # 4658677 and it is the Black clip.

After looking in one of my local O'Reiily Auto Parts stores I foud a kit >> Dorman HELP_Door Lock Rod Clip 75450 and is only about $8.00 USD.

The two Black and Yellow clips do work in the 300's perfectly but the YELLOW CLIP in this kit is used on the left doors and the BLACK CLIP is used on the right doors which is opposite of the Chrysler kit.
The only difference is the color of the clips.
This is the left one.

This is the right one.

Good advice, I am amazed they sell those separately, as most things are "next higher assembly only", so thanks for the info.

I fell into the "they must sell these separately" (and then found they didn't) when I fitted the android head unit (new stereo :) ) and the new fascia comes without the small steel clips. You have to use the ones on the orig, and if you break or lose one (drops in/down behind console etc) THAT IS IT. HUNDREDS of aftermarket clips sold on the net, but NONE like that/come close that I could find.

Chrysler's don't list them, as their answer is "buy a whole new fascia for hundreds that you don't need, pry the clips off THAT/have another spare fascia you won't use" rather than sell you some clips. VERY expensive clips. :-(

I ended up using a hybrid way of mounting it, as I hate those clips, and where the top of the fascia clips in is ridiculously flimsy anyway, but "replacement radio hassles" is a whole different thread.........
