Make sure the bluetooth on your phone is turned on. I got this message last night and realized I did not have it turned on. Or you might have to re-pair the phone.

 

you may need to have the unit replaced. Usually if you never get past this message and you have your phone with bluetooth on and you've paired it, it means either the bluetooth module or the hands-free module has gone out.

Time to visit a dealer.

 

I agree. I had this happen a couple of times before my hands-free module (or was it the bluetooth module?) crapped out completely.
