I don't see why it would cause any problems it's a small car won't take much juice to crank it over.

What MADDOG said, also if your not sure how to hook up the Prius, it should be listed in the owner's manual. I wouldn't think it would be any different than any other normal car...but the Prius isn't a normal car

 

Not sure about the 1st Gen, but 2nd Gen have both a positive terminal connection as well as a ground post specifically for jumping under the hood.

 

OK, cool. I failed to mention one of my questions was can I use the UTH post for jumping another car. Thx for the quick response guys. I'll report back my findings.

I would think the big battery in the Prius could perform this task.

 

Jump starting with modern electronic filled cars is not a good practice. But -- if you must do it, turn off the ignition switch on your car and use the most convenient terminals.

 

Well we got there and my mom had left her manual at home. The + post was small and hard to clamp on to and without the booklet to say to clamp on to the weird thing beside it I didn't know any better (which was not the same as in the video MPH posted, but thanks!) So in short, recovery attempt failed. Was under the gun for time so I will go back and try again tomorrow.

 

What about jumper box??

Same as from another vehicle.

 

So my brothers went out and jumped it (the right way) and it started up and has ran fine since... glitch in the matrix I guess.
