I have had 2 300c's sold them and bought an jag XF and bought my 07 300c back it just hit 9000 miles today and I was driving it today put it in park and turned it off, got out and about 3 min later I saw big flames coming out of my engine so I called 911 and 2 min later my gas tank exploded, this all happened about 5 hours ago, the fire chief said it was electrical or the fuel line??? and it was the 7th 05 and up chrysler 300 that he saw on fire!!! I am SO done with chryslers!!!!! WTF!!!! I had an OEM mopar cold air intake on it and stealth auto HID's on it and an OEM mopar trailer hitch on it and that's it!!! Why would it catch on fire???? Is there any RECALS???? I found out today the HEMI is made in MEXICO???? YUCK!!! I am going to make chrysler PAY!!! for this. That's why I need to talk to other 300 owners if there 300 have caught on fire??? I could of really BEEN hurt bad but I was very lucky and I was not, So what should do about making chrysler pay???? Or recalling my car??? And any chrysler llc big shot names and phone numbers would help!!! Thanks

Gasoline, in its liquid form, doesn't explode or even burn for that matter. The vapors are what cause rapid combustion (explosion) and a full tank of fuel would hold less vapor.
I'm not saying your car didn't go up in flames nor that a full tank of fuel wouldn't catch on fire, but an explosion is probably a bit of an exaggeration, eh?

Cars in movies blow up all the time with the least provocation. Fortunately, its not that way in real life.

In reading your panicky sounding posts and paranoid manner (about Chrysler and Mexico of course) I'd suggest checking your Frenemy list first. Also, just as a thought, you may want to start with the dimmer people on that list as it seems they didn't quite get it right.

Best of luck. Maybe switch to something electric...

if they were prone to catch on fire there would have been a recall or others here would have surely let people know as there have been none in Australia but you would have to ask all the forums i work for Fire and rescue and there is usually info passed around re fires that are occurring more that once with anything i hope this helps

I've been fuking around with chrysler LLC for the last 2 days on my burnt 300c they sent an fire chief to look over my car and I think chrysler is going to replace it with an brand new 300c, but after this I don't think I ever want to drive another 300c again. They think it was my EVIC????? Or the gas line???? Please everyone out there have your 300 checked out!!!! at least do it for me

Chrysler has produced over a million LX's and spontaneous combustion does not appear to be very common so I choose not to get paranoid based on an isolated instance of someones car catching on fire. Also, do you think that the 300C is the only model of car to ever have caught on fire? Sounds like you are too neurotic to think rationally. Take a deep breath and realize that living is not risk free.
