Actually - your SRT8 does have one - it runs under the cowling at the back of the engine bay - out of sight - linking the front strut towers together. There is a huge brace across the firewall, as well.

Additionally, the LX chassis is made from hydroformed steel and is very rigid.

I run my SRT8 on road courses, pushing over 1 G lateral, and the only area where I can sense any flexing at all is on the rear shock towers - and it is very minimal.

Having said that - front strut braces are very much in fashion as "engine bay jewellery" these days. Made popular by all the Mustangs that aboslutely need every bit of cross-bracing they can add . . . . :)

Well, can't say I pushed it on a road course, but my street driving says the bars do work. While I'm sure the car does great on a road course stock, normal street driving is different. Can't turn, brake or gas like on a road course in traffic. My car doesn't swing the rear end out as it used to. My car feels much better planted turning corners. Sways are next on my list. I have the DC front & the speedlogistix rear arched.
The trunk was not put back together yet in this pic as I added some sound dampening while I had the panels out but you get the idea.

I have both installed. The front (made to clear the supercharger) and the rear as pictured above.

There is most definately a difference. What I felt most is the improved turn in. It just feels tighter. The rear's difference is not as noticeable if you are not putting the car on a track or on roads that have tighter corners. I live in Miami, Florida. The extent of the curves here.... Highway on ramps... LOL...

I was recently in the Carolina's and Tenessee at Deals Gap (Tail of the Dragon) and the car felt awesome. I was quite neutral on the turns. Turn in was crisp. A couple of GTO's (from our local club) mentioned their cars would push a tiny bit but I felt nothing. Overall... I think it was a worthwhile investment.

On the front brace... yes the car has one, but I would not call it as stiff as a purpose built unit. For example the one from Speedlogix (which is what I have, front and rear) are chromoly steel. Far more rigid and they go from strut mount to strut mount. May not be a huge difference, but there is definately a difference. As for engine bay jewlery.... well mine was powdercoated to match the car paint.... I am more about hiding it.... ;-)
