New 6.1 Hemi badge mod

Hey all...haven't been on here in a long time. I just did my first mod in almost 3 years to my SRT8 today. I picked up the 6.1 Hemi badge for the 2010 Chally hood and stuck it on the trunk lid. I'm sure this has been done by others, but I didn't feel like doing a search to see how they were applied. I'd like some honest opinions on the placement of the badge. Should it be placed higher, lower, below the SRT8 badge, leave it where it is, etc.

DaveW68....I've seen you driving around town. We're neighbors, city neighbors that is :) I'm in LITH

Placement looks good, nice job!

Looks good. I like the placement too.

Dave, long time. Welcome home :)

I dunno, it just doesn't quite look balanced to me. Maybe put it where the SRT8 badge is and put a pair of SRT8 badges on the fenders? Have you de-molded? Have you fit the 6.1 badge on the fender? Maybe a pair of those would look cool up there if you mounted them right.

^^^^I agree with Eric...maybe just leave the SRT-8 badge on the trunk and get one more 6.1 hemi badge so you can put those on the fenders...like I did with SRT-8 badges...

I appreciate the feedback. There is no way I'm going to demould my car. I have 6 kids (and a 7th on the way). My wife parks her Odyssey in the garage next to me and her door has hit my car so many times I've lost count. Amazingly, I have no door dingers after 3.5 years (knock on wood) as the trim has some scuffs from the many knocks. Her 5 year old van looks like an Iraq war casualty, while my car still looks decent, albeit with a few minor scratches the kids have put on it.

I didn't really want to remove the SRT8 badge from the trunk, so I was looking for a way to place the 6.1 badge and come up with a somewhat balanced look. I basically placed it in the same spot where the "AWD" badge would go. I'm not sure why they never put any kind of "Hemi" badge on the SRT8's (I have the "300C" badges on the sides, not the "Hemi C" that most have). I am sort of a minimalist, and didn't want to stick extra stuff all over my car, but wanted to at least get the Hemi on there since it's nowhere else except on the valve covers. I've now noticed that those badges are firmly stuck in place and the only way to move them would be to take them off and use a product like Goo Gone, then purchase another set. I guess I'm just gonna have to live with it the way it is.

By the way Inferno, those powder coated rims are lights out. :fing02:

Dave the 6.1HEMI badge does not look bad at all. Id def look into placement on the fenders but its not bad where it is IMO. Inferno...the SRT8 badge placement looks SICK!! May have to do somethin similar myself.

Missed out on the eBay auction by US$1 - two badges went for US$31.01 plus postage, which I thought was a pretty fair price (genuine Mopar product). It might be easier @ US$14.99 to purchase some from a dealer in the US and have posted to me.

Good to hear from you again Bob and if I end up going through a dealer, then I may ask you to assist if you have the time and / or inclination. Happy to send you some $$$ via PayPal if you're eager to help out mate.

I like the idea of only using the 6.1 portion, drop the HEMI. Either put 6.1 in place of the SRT8 on the trunklid, or opposite it on the left side, or leave the trunklid alone and replace the 300c/HEMIc badge forward of the doors with the 6.1

I liked the 6.1 HEMI badge so much I bought one on Ebay ($12.99) and placed it directly across from the STR8 logo on the trunk lid. Love it.

First mod in 3 years?!?! Let's hope you don't wait another 3 for your second mod! hehe Anyways, I think it looks great just as you have it. :fing02:

Hey Kyle - thanks for the offer mate. I might have to take you up on that. Just waiting for a reply from an eBay seller first. Shipping (US postage) charges I've been quoted so far, range from $5.95 - $65.00 for an emblem in an envelope? Emblem costs that I've seen range from $14.99 - $34.99 - obviously some have extra chrome plating or something!

No I didnt buy one as I debadged mine but I thought others may like it , uk SRT goes on the right of the trunk looking from behind

Do you also have the Chrysler lettering on the opposite side to the SRT8 emblem on the trunk lid (as previously asked)? Refer to the picture of my car attached (when I was at the dealer in '09). This is where others seem to have placed the 6.1 Hemi emblem and I'm wondering if these letters are standard on all cars or just ours?

Thanks Neo - just checked them out. Postage to anywhere in the US is $4.00 but to me in Australia is $31.00 - a bit steep for an airmail letter I thought. Still waiting for an answer from an eBay seller that was offering the emblems for $14.99 each + $15.95 postage to Australia. Since I want to purchase a few, possibly 10 or more (and offer them for sale here) I'm waiting to hear back on bulk purchase and shipping (postage) costs. Thanks for the link anyway.

Do the US sold SRT-8 have the CHRYSLER letters on trunk lid or is this just the Austrian built versions? Perhaps its some strange dealer prep thing over here only.

OldVal: I haven't seen the "Chrysler" lettering on the left side of any SRT8's trunk lids here, so it has to be an Aussie thing.

Hey, dumb question. How does one post or attach photos here? I wanted everyone to take a gander at my 6.1 HEMI badge as well as the trunk lid spoiler I installed.

Thanks to all.
