Update:
Today I made additional 40km in the city...the car is behaving like it was...and the best thing...engine check light is not lit any more without me resetting the codes.
After I started the car for the 5th time since the resistor mod, the car says that for him everything is fine now :D

Thank you again for an amazing fix.

Update...
Here are a few pics of the resister soldered to the spades and fitted to the plug.

The swirl plug spades are around 1.2 mm wide so i cut down the 3.2 mm spades i used for the EGR resistor.

Apologies for the rubbish pics.

Guys as some of you already know I only got my 300 yesterday its an 08 plate facelift model with 58K miles FCSH, and the thought of this swirl pump going tits up is a real concern to me, albeit I did get a years warranty from Marshalls im still a bit worried to say the least

Ive ordered a 10 pack of the resistors as per an earlier post from ebay to have them to hand now the questions are

do I do this mod as a precausion or wait till the unit fails, on inspection of the car before purchase I looked at the pipe and its got the later black seal on it and there is no evidance of any oil or residue anywhare

If done as a precausion will the installation of the resistor bring up a fault light that will need to be reset

Is there any chance some kind member could please take a photo of the location of the connector that needs the resistor fitted, as Ive looked at the pics posted here and cant seem to find where it is !!

thanks for any help or advice

Rob

Thanks Paul Ill do that mate, hopefully someone will have a picture of the connector so I know what im looking for and ill print it and put it with the resistors in the glove box just incase !!

Pics of the plug with the resistor fitted above^^^^^^ @ post no 85.

Just remove the intake pipe, the swirl motor is directly below behind the fuel filter, and the plug is on the right hand side,

The resistor goes in the two centre holes of the plug....red/green and grey wire colours.
