Without planning on a camshaft and valve/headwork, buying one would be a waste of money. You won't really reap anything out of a manifold only swap.

Upgrade to a set of SRT headers and aset of magnaflow high flow cats.. also get a 180 degree thermostat.

 

I've looked into headers what seem to be the best I've read a lot have a problem fitting?

 

You want a set of 6.1 srt headers(OEM) and a set of 6.1 magnaflow high flow mid pipes(CATS) and an EGR block off plate.

 

Gotta say - can't remember ever seeing an aftermarket intake manifold. ??

 

Hogan manifolds makes aftermarket intake manifolds for the 6.1

These are hand made and the welds are the nicest I've seen. This intake manifold is so beautiful by Hogan but very expensive. My buddy had one made for his 300 and it was 5k. I don't know how much extra power he picked up with it but he didn't care it was all about looks for him.

 

Summary: who makes the best intake manifold? OEM.

 

I also saw this owner had hogan make him a custom manifold.

XV makes a nice one as well...

However...As others have mentioned, on a near stock car you will see no benefit from it. You need heads and cam or some forced induction to see any power there.... even then your not gaining 30/30... look towards a cam and headers first, then heads, then intake if your dyno chart looks like it calls for it.

Bozo has that XV manifold and it is for boosted applications,on a NA vehical it doesn't work so well. i'd pm him as i believe he is the only one running it.

 

Thax guys for all the great info dam that intake looks nice!!! I was just wondering when u say OEM headers u mean ones from the dealer??? I know bbk makes them headman also, or do I find a completely stock 6.1 factory headers which will be big bucks. I believe headman only make 5.7 headers not 6.1 is there a difference from 5.7 headers to 6.1 headers????

 

Yes there is a differance between 5.7 and 6.1... the 6.1 are accually shorty headers and you should be able to pick some up for around 200 ish.

 

^ yep! Waaaaay cheaper than after market for headers and mids, get some used take off ones...you don't need new.

What if I did headers and bypass the mids I don't have emission control around here

 

Do the SRT headers for $200 from hhp and pick up s set of mids for the 6.1, catted or not is up to you... if you run 6.1 headers you will need to run 6.1 mids... you also gain in pipe size... just keep in mind you can then delete egr and shut it off in the tune and you will need a small reducer to match up to the cat back, easy to do and a great little mod!

Right now I put bigger pipes from cats back removed the stock.x pipe and put delta 44 flowmasters on it. I believe it's 2 3/4 or 3" pipe
So it should be match up better. What is HHP??? And how would I find them??? Not familiar with that name.
And can I run a stock tune and just turn off egr??? Or do I have to run a performance tune to shut it off.

 

One more thing sorry egr block.off plate.does someone make the or do I need to fab that piece up?

 

Billet Technologies does the EGR block off plate... HHP is High Horse Performance and they have new take off 6.1 manifolds usually in stock... To shut off EGR you can do it with the older revision software on the predator, if you have newer software then email Johan to get a tune for quite inexpensive and he can turn it off as well as get you more power out of that car! If you don't have a Diablo... get one! Hehehe!

 

I have a trinity Diablo tuner already lol where do I get the tune from who Johan and thax I'm going to see if I can get those HHP man.
