Pictures are from a music video from rapper Mannie Fresh. What'd you guys think of the paint job and white rims?
The two tone isn't bad. I would like to see a better picture though.

The attached pictures is the best bad-ass two tone I have ever seen so far.

Isn't that the point of aftermarket modifications to automobiles? To make them look better? While I realize its all opinions and difference in style, often times, modifications are done that take away from the overall design of a vehicle.

Have you ever seen a Standard E Class with an AMG badge? Thats my point.
Don't get me wrong - I like that old whip also but it is done to look more factory or restored. But if Jay Leno was standing next to a 2-toned 300C no one would be calling it "Ghetto"! But then again, maybe they might refer to it as Ghetto because of dumb stereotypes and lack of vocabulary.

There is no "restoration" of a 2005 300C so the custom job will not have the same focus as the old whip. 30 years from now people will be restoring the 2005 300C to look factory.

One of my points is that people can not expect or compare a restored classic to a modern custom car especially with biased ethnic references. You would hardly ever find a 30/40 year old car with extreme stuff on it. Old cars are usually built up to reflect the factory and old technology and new moder cars are built up to reflect current technology.

Yeah, I have seen E320's rebadged with E55 and AMG. Can that be called Ghetto also? :D

How about 69 to 71 year old cars with extreme stuff? No old tech or factory reflections here! The only thing we left faintly resembling the old days was the body style but with subtle mods there as well. All new & power everything underneath - both tried to eat my Corvette and came real close! We were just about to 2-tone the '33 (turquoise one) w/black on top but sold it before following through.

Visit a few streetrod shows and "hardly ever" no longer fits. You see many more cars 'streetrodded' than restored to original. I think the same will be true for the 300C many years from now simply because it has such a unique look to begin with. I hope the stand-out styling becomes a trend; I loved the '40's / 50's cars when you could actually tell one from another rather than the cookie-cutter styles of late. And I hope I'm around long enough to see how someone might decide to 'streetrod' my 300C 30/40 years from now...;)

HOLLA!
Crackhead ;) JK Redman!

You slay me.

That C with dark upper and light lower color looks terrible. Some of the Magnums look pretty sharp to me. It's all about putting some thought into it,
not just slapping on a coat of paint. The two colors should harmonize well
and the dividing line must be in the right place. Not a project for amateurs.

I wonder if this car can be driven at night with that tent on the front window?

HEMEEE, the new techonology I am referring too is like 20, 22, 24 inch rims, extreme stereo setups with 10 subwoofer and 20 amps, TV monitors all around, graphics, Xenon conversions, recaro seats, etc. The kinda of stuff from the movie - The Fast & the furious! :D

I get ya... so I am extreme compared to the early 20th century but conservative as compared to the 21st!

BTW, I can be fast, but I'm rarely furious;)

Outside of rap videos and the internt, most of you will never see cars like this.
I see one every day when I turn on my wipers to get rid of the dew on my windshield and many others on this forum do also. If you want to talk cars we can, but don't assume you know anything about the cars we see on a daily basis. I have 3 friends whom all won awards at the Spring Truck jamboree and many other shows. All of their cars are beyond extreme. Body drops, 24" Wheels, 3000watt sound systems. Full on showcars.

A fixed up 300c is becoming a dime a dozen here in LA. I see cars that blow my mind every day, like the BMW 645i on colormatched HRE 22x9.5 and 22x11 that I saw on the sidewalk while getting my car washed the other day. It had AC Schnitzer exhaust and the sound of it driving away was music to my ears.

The thoughts and opinions you have read on this thread have nothing to do with jealousy, I can promise you that.

You damn skippy!

The term Ghetto implies Minorities and most of the rebadges I see are Suburbanites with stock options and portfolios! :D Rebadging an E320 to E55 AMG is just plain idiotic and lunacy and those with low self-esteem. :D

Too Flashy For Dad???

A few simple lifestyles that should be pointed out about the people that buy the 300 C and how it fits into their lifestyle, my opinion of course.

1. You are a old man that has been a car collector for years and saw the 300 as a wise choice to add to your collection.

2. You are in the middle of a midlife-crisis and trying to attract the attention of your young secertary with a flashy sedan and room for two in the back...

3. You are a young buck trying to MTV it up, living paycheck to paycheck and considered by some GHETTO for the knockoffs you roll on.

4. You are GQ UNIVERSAL and to keep the image fresh you needed to add another sleek ride. A pounding system, 8 tvs and $10,000 dubs kept squeaky clean 24/7 is the only way you know how to roll up to the club...

5. Your a soccer mom looking to ditch the van...

Now, of course there are more lifestyle than the above listed. But, since my induction into the forum i would assumme a great deal of people fall into these lifestyles.

BLING or not, hopefully we all enjoy our 300 no matter how we live our life...

just a thought...

Dave, I think you are missing the obvious, by attempting to stereotype the people who buy this car.

Back in the 3rd decade of the last century, Henry Ford built a great car that was affordale. It was called the Model A. It meant different things to different people. It was chopped, customized in every way imaginable. But people bought it, because, for its time, it was a GREAT CAR.

In the first decade of the 21st century, Daimler Chrysler have built a great car that is affordable. It is called the 300. All kinds of people are buying it for all kinds of uses. It is already being customized, as we see on this forum. The response to this car is quite different than to an Impala or a Taurus. People are buying it because it is a GREAT CAR.

What is really neat is how so many folks from different lifestyles come together on a forum such as this because of their appreciation for

..... (are we ready for this)

A GREAT CAR.
